Warranty conditions
For the purchased products, Sc Romextrud International Srl provides service on the basis of the purchase documents*, according to the legislation in force.
*By "purchase documents", we mean the tax invoice and/or tax voucher or the tax invoice and/or tax voucher together with the warranty certificate.
Important
In order to prevent possible faults that may occur due to improper installation and/or operation, we recommend that the product should be commissioned and instructed in the use of the product by the reseller.
Any lack of conformity resulting from improper installation of the products will be considered equivalent to a lack of conformity of the products, if the installation is part of the contract of sale of the products and the products were installed by the seller or under his responsibility. These provisions also apply if the product intended to be installed by the consumer is installed by the consumer and the incorrect installation is due to a deficiency in the installation instructions, according to Art. 8. para. (1) and (2) of Law no. 449/2003 republished. In other words, in the event that the end customer decides to install on his own a product purchased from the website www.generalmotor.ro (without using a specialised workshop), the warranty becomes void.
The declaration on own responsibility, in accordance with Law no. 449/2003 on the sale of products and associated warranties, as amended by OG no. 9/2016 published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 9 of 27.01.2016, states that the invoiced product corresponds to the manufacturer's execution documentation and national and European standards, according to the test bulletins issued by specialised laboratories and the manufacturer's certificate of conformity.
According to art. 5 of Law no. 449/2003 republished, products are deemed to be in conformity if:
a) they correspond to the description made by the seller and have the same qualities as the products that the seller has presented to the consumer as a sample or model;
(b) they fulfil any specific purpose requested by the consumer, made known to the seller and accepted by the seller at the time of the conclusion of the contract of sale;
(c) fulfil the purposes for which products of the same type are normally used;
(d) being of the same type, they show normal quality and performance parameters which the consumer can reasonably expect, given the nature of the product and the public statements on its specific characteristics made by the seller, the manufacturer or his representative, in particular in advertising or on the labelling of the product.
The average period of use is 10 years, during which time spare parts are provided under warranty and post-warranty.
For legal entities, the warranty offered for purchased products is 12 months.
The guarantee for individuals is 24 months, conditional on the product being used for the purpose for which it was designed and realised, as well as on the product being maintained in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
Accumulators and batteries that equip the products benefit from a 6-month warranty period.
The warranty period starts from the time of sale of the product to the end customer, which will be indicated later, at the request of the warranty, through the purchase documents.
The warranty is provided by any authorised service unit.
The customer may request warranty repair on the basis of the purchase documents.
The defective product will be brought to the authorised service unit and repaired within a maximum of 15 days from the date of receipt at the authorised service unit.
The warranty period is extended by the time elapsed from the receipt of the defective product in the authorised service unit until the date of repair. The extension is recorded in the warranty certificate by the authorised service unit.
NO WARRANTY IS GRANTED IN THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS:
-Non-submission of the warranty certificate, tax invoice and/or receipt
-Existence of defects caused by user negligence, mishandling, etc.
-Use of incorrect fuel/oil or improper storage conditions
-Defects caused by user error in product installation or maintenance
-Repairs carried out by unauthorised persons, changes to the original condition of the product
-Use of the products for purposes other than those for which they were designed
-Use of accessories or spare parts other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING!
1. Any modification to the initial condition of the machine, modifications such as, but not limited to welding, soldering, cutting of the stecher power supply cable, unauthorised intervention in the electrical connections, removal of guards or override of mechanical or electrical safety systems) will lead to loss of warranty;
2. The warranty does not cover products which show interventions such as: knocks, cracks, chipping, burnt or damaged components/parts, use of inappropriate supply voltages, exposure to high temperature and pressure variations, mechanical shocks, incorrect handling, use/storage of products in humid, dusty, noxious or chemical conditions, etc., incorrect settings and/or installation, defective power supplies, unprotected plugs, ingress of liquids, metals and/or other substances inside the equipment, mechanical or plastic intervention on the products, connection or disconnection of certain components during the operation of the equipment, etc.
THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS ARE NOT WARRANTED:
- the warranty does not extend to consumables which naturally fail or wear out as a result of normal use of the product.
- The warranty does not cover parts made of PVC, ebonite, rubber, tyres damaged as a result of improper use and/or handling of the product or subject to natural wear of the product.
Detailed description of components not covered by warranty - parts, accessories or sub-assemblies from:
I. Heat engine
1. Engine oil, oil filters, oil filters, air filters, fuel filters, fuel hoses, syringes, rubber rings, items which are consumable items whose wear or clogging occurs as a result of normal use of the product.
2. Piston rings, cylinder, piston, connecting rod, intake valves, exhaust valves, valve guides, if these parts become defective as a result of using the engine with a counterfeit, clogged or no air filter or other defects caused by using the engine without sufficient oil or using an engine oil of lower quality than that recommended by the engine manufacturer.
3.The use of poor quality fuel which results in the engine running with detonation, water and/or impurities leading to blockage of the fuelling system, carburettor, injection pump and injectors.
4. Spark plugs, spark plug plug plugs, cables, terminals, electrical contacts, if these parts suffer natural wear resulting from normal use of the product, if they are damaged as a result of mishandling of the product or if spark plugs other than those recommended by the engine manufacturer are used.
5.Starter handle, starter rope, ratchet, return springs, starter roller, starter housing, naturally worn as a result of normal use of the product or damaged as a result of mishandling.
6. Clutches, brake shoes, pressure plates, springs, elements subject to natural wear as a result of normal use of the product or prematurely worn due to improper handling and/or maintenance.
7.Springs, levers, cables used in throttle and clutch control, parts subject to normal wear or damaged by mishandling and/or improper maintenance.
II. Mowing table
1.Teeth, rivets, mowing blade, blade guards, adjusting screws, backing plates, parts belonging to the category of consumables, if they are subject to normal wear and tear under normal use of the product or if they are damaged prematurely through improper handling or maintenance.
2.Blade, cleaning plate, spacer rod, blade shoe, blade shoe, bar as a whole, items belonging to the category of consumables, if they are subject to normal wear and tear under normal use of the product or prematurely damaged through improper use and/or maintenance.
III. Transmission mechanisms
1. Blade support arm, blade roller, internal crank, external crank, needle bearings, safety covers, sliding cylinder, cardan shaft, transmission and timing belts, cutter-shaft seals, chains, knives, auocut, transmission belt, items which are consumable items, if they are subject to normal wear under normal use of the product or if they are damaged prematurely through misuse and/or improper maintenance.
IV. Gearbox
1. Pinions, in general if it is found that there has been no oil in the gearbox or if the clutch has not been used when changing gears, engaging accessories or operating the reverser.
V. Electrically operated products
1. Bushings, bearing, rotor if they are subject to wear caused by undue heavy/excessive use.
2. Collector brushes, elements belonging to the category of consumables, if they are subject to natural wear under normal use of the product.
3. Flywheel drive sprocket (bendix.) if subject to wear and tear in the event of unjustified intensive use.
4.Knives, hammers, collector brushes, dampers, switches, power supply cable, fuses, valves, solenoid valves, gaskets, consumable items which are subject to normal wear and tear during normal operation of the product or if subject to damage caused by improper handling, maintenance and/or operation.
THE CUSTOMER IS ADVISED TO:
1. For 2-stroke engines, a blending oil (API TC classification) should be used, as recommended by the manufacturer, or an oil intended for 2-stroke engines with a higher or at least equal classification.
2. 4-stroke engines shall use a 4-stroke oil (API classification - CI-4/SL), as recommended by the manufacturer, or an oil intended for 4-stroke engines with a higher or at least equal classification.
3. For the gearbox, the oil (API- GL-4 classification) recommended by the manufacturer, or a transmission oil with characteristics and a higher or at least equal classification, shall be used.
4. For chain lubrication, the oil (L150) or X-Guard oil recommended by the manufacturer or an oil for lubrication of friction/circular lubrication mechanisms with characteristics and a classification superior or at least equal shall be used.
5. For the protection of piston engines for compressors, use Compressor Protect (K150) oil, recommended by the manufacturer, or an oil for the lubrication of hydrostatic systems and friction/circular lubrication mechanisms with characteristics and a higher or at least equal classification.
6. For lubrication of engines in temperatures down to -25ºC, the oil (API classification -CI-4/SL) recommended by the manufacturer for petrol or diesel engines or an oil for the lubrication of engines with characteristics and a higher or at least equal classification shall be used.
7. For lubrication of all categories of gearboxes, transmissions and gears, the manufacturer's recommended grease or any type of grease with characteristics and a classification superior or at least equal to it shall be used.
8. In order to prolong the lifetime of the purchased products and to optimise their functioning, Sc Romextrud International Srl recommends periodical overhauling at 60 days, 6 months, 12 months from the date of purchase. During the overhaul, the following operations are carried out: checking the general condition of the product (integrity and cleanliness); checking the air filter; checking the spark plug; checking the engine speed; checking the couplings.
